Dior Kicks Off Paris Fashion Week with Archery Performance

Dior opened Paris Fashion Week with a dramatic archery display during their Spring/Summer 2025 runway show. The event featured competitive archer Sagg Napoli, a 33-year-old Italian performance artist, who walked the length of the catwalk carrying her bow. Upon reaching the end, she began shooting arrows down the runway, flanked by models showcasing Dior's new sport-inspired collection.

The archery performance, which took place inside a transparent corridor extending the length of the runway, was a highlight of the show. Guests including French First Lady Brigitte Macron, Dior CEO Bernard Arnault, and celebrities like Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman, and Aya Nakamura enthusiastically applauded the display of skill and precision.

Designer Maria Grazia Chiuri drew inspiration from Christian Dior's iconic 1951 "Amazone" dress, reimagining the silhouette with sleek, athletic contours for a modern, sport-focused collection. The looks featured bold asymmetry, with one shoulder bare on many dresses and tops, as well as elaborate zips, straps, and graphic prints.

Chiuri aimed to showcase the construction of each garment, with the omnipresent "Miss Dior" logo stretched to abstract extremes. The predominantly black and white color scheme was punctuated by shimmering metallic details and lightweight jersey evening gowns.

The sporty elegance was complemented by flat thigh-high boots and laced boxing boots, with the occasional kitten heel. The collection balanced Dior's refined heritage with a youthful, urban aesthetic, celebrating female strength and independence.
